
Timbre Cierpke has been classically trained on the harp since 1992 and
has been playing professionally since 1995. She has a degree in Harp and
Voice Performance from Trevecca Nazarene University. She has performed
in a great range of places, from weddings and parties, to playing live
on NPR, to performing at the National Cathedral in Washington DC. She
is on contract with the Jackson and Paducah Symphonies, where she is the
first chair harpist, and is also first chair harpist in the Trevecca Symphony
Orchestra. Timbre has also played with other symphonies, including being
hired by the London Symphony Orchestra for two dates of their American
tour. Timbre has won numerous competitions on her instrument, including
the Curb Nashville Symphony Young Musicians Competition, and is the only
graduate of Trevecca University to win the school's concerto competition
four years in a row.
In addition to performing
classicaly, Timbre Cierpke has been teaching harp lessons since 2000.
She has also started a career as a solo artist, playing original music
and collaborating with various bands. (see band
